Have you got any information about a missing person?
Call us or write to us immediately!
You can save someone’s life!

Make sure that ITAKA is already looking for this person.

You can do so by checking our Missing People Internet Database. By using one simple search engine you can get information about all searches currently run by ITAKA.

If you have any information about a person you have found in our database, be sure to share it with ITAKA – by doing so you can save someone’s life. Remember that all reports are verified by the police. It may happen that the officer investigating a case will need to contact you. In such a situation we always ask our informers for permission to pass on their contact details.

What kind of information is vital for the search?

  • The name of the town/city, street, a characteristic spot, circumstances (e.g. May 12, in the morning, in Gdansk - Poland, in Długa Street, by the Neptune Monument; April 25, in the evening, at the Warszawa Zachodnia bus station, in Poland, in Al. Jerozolimskie Street, etc.).
  • Was the missing person seen once, twice, or more? Have you had several sightings of this person in different places or always in the same area?
  • Was the missing person alone or in the company of others? How did he/she behave?
  • Was there anything characteristic about the person’s appearance or behaviour?

If you provide your current contact details, we will be able to verify your report.

How can you share with us your information about a missing person?

  • It is best to use the contact form provided by us. After you enter a case in the Missing People Database, click on the right on: „Have you got any information about this missing person?”
  • You can also send us an e-mail including the missing person’s first and last name in the subject line. Make sure to provide all useful information in the body of your message.
  • You can call us at any time on our ITAKA 24h helpline.

DISCLAIMER: The ITAKA helpline is active 24 hours a day, but not all persons on duty speak English. Preferably call on weekdays from 9am till 5pm.

How do we use the information you send us?

We give each piece of information our special attention. Each verified report will be passed on to the family and the police. We do not, however, disclose the identity of our informers.

We reply to all messages. It is therefore important that you include your contact details; we might need to ask you additional questions regarding the missing person.

If you do not include your return address, the family or the police might not be able to reach the place of the sighting you indicated. Your personal details will be passed on to the missing person’s family only on your specific permission and to the police on their request.

What cases are reported to ITAKA?

  • We help look for missing Polish citizens (children & adults) in Poland and abroad (mainly in Europe)
  • We help look for foreign citizens (children & adults) who probably went missing in Poland
  • In some situations we run searches which do not belong to any of the above categories
  • We only deal with the cases which have already been reported to the police (in Poland or elsewhere).
