Protecting the privacy of people using the www.zaginieni.pl website is our priority. In order to help protect personal details of the users, we have undertaken all necessary technological precautions to prevent external abuse of all confidential data stored on our website. We have also created a clear and transparent set of rules regulating this major issue. It should be stressed that in collecting personal data ITAKA – Centre for Missing People follows strictly all Polish legal regulations, particularly the Act on the Protection of Personal Data of August 29, 1997 (Journal of Laws of 1997, No. 133, item 883, with later amendments) and the Act on Providing Electronic Services of July 18, 2002 (Journal of Laws of 2002, No. 144, item 1204). The General Inspector for the Protection of Personal Data has also been notified of the fact that ITAKA processes personal data.
The following document clearly defines the issue of personal data protection as regards both the users of our website and those whose data is stored on the above mentioned website.
Protecting the privacy of the people whose personal data is stored on the www.zaginieni.pl website. Statutory activity of the ITAKA – Centre for Missing People Foundation is searching for missing people and providing complex support to their families. With this end in mind we have created a Missing and Unidentified People Internet Database where we register all personal data that can help locate missing and unidentified persons. It must be emphasized that only ITAKA’s staff and voluntary workers can access the database and the information stored there cannot be viewed by outsiders. However, following the express consent of the missing person’s family, stated clearly in writing, we can publish the missing person’s personal details on our www.zaginieni.pl website together with their photograph. Everybody who reports a missing person to ITAKA can at any time review such information, as well as demand the update or removal of previously reported data.
Protecting the privacy of the www.zaginieni.pl service users.
In accordance with the procedures for reporting a missing person to the ITAKA Foundation, such report can also be submitted electronically by means of the Internet form available on our website www.zaginieni.pl. It must be emphasized that only ITAKA’s staff and voluntary workers can access the database and the information stored there cannot be viewed by outsiders.
